About the Foundation

01 · Our story

Mansco began as a company founded by our grandfather in 1986. Today it is a Ghanaian business in food, cold chain and technology, and its roots are in Akropong.

The Mansco Foundation is how the business gives back to the place it comes from. We started with a simple question: what would change if the back roads of Akuapem were built properly, and the young people who live on them were in charge of looking after them?

02 · What we believe

  • 01

    Build, don't promise.

We talk about what is done, with photos and receipts.

  • 02

    The community decides.

Residents nominate. Members vote. Guardians maintain.

  • 03

    Open by default.

    Every cedi in public.

  • 04

    Young people lead.

The future of Akuapem is already living here.

  • 05

    Everyone is welcome.

We are non-partisan. Our roads are for everyone who walks them.

Nana Owusu (Julian Owusu-Bekoe)

Founder

Nana Owusu is Mmerantehene of Akropong and the Chief Executive of Mansco. He has built businesses in Ghana and the UK, and believes the future of every community lives in what its people build. He founded the Mansco Foundation to put that belief into roads, projects and opportunities at home.

“Your future will only live in what you build.”

Nana Owusu

04 · Governance

The Foundation is governed by a board of trustees [names to confirm], including independent members. Accounts are reviewed every year and published as part of our annual report.
