Our work
We focus on things people can see and use: roads, community projects and opportunities for young people. We start in Akropong and the towns of Akuapem, and we grow only as fast as we can deliver properly.
01 · 50 Back Roads by 2028
The roads to the clinic, the farm, the school and home
We are building fifty back roads across Akuapem by the end of 2028.
How a road gets built
- 01
The community nominates.
Residents, assembly members and youth groups put a road forward.
- 02
We survey and cost it.
Length, drainage, materials and a fixed budget, published before work starts.
- 03
A patron funds it.
One Road Patron or many smaller donors cover the cost.
- 04
Local hands build it.
We hire locally wherever we can.
- 05
A Road Guardian looks after it.
A young person from the area is named Guardian, with a yearly maintenance budget.
- 06
It goes on the ledger.
Before and after photos, final cost and receipts, published for everyone.
What goes into a road: Gravel base, blue stone topping and drainage that stops it washing away in the rains. Around £2,500 for a typical back road.
The plan: [5] roads in the first phase, [20] in the second, [25] in the third. Fifty by 2028.
02 · The Monthly Project
You put in. You vote. It gets built
Members contribute a small amount every month. At the start of each month, members vote on a shortlist of community projects. The winning project is built that month, and the result is shown to everyone.
Projects might be a borehole repair, desks for a school, streetlights on a dark path, a refurbished football pitch or a market shed. The community chooses.
The rules
- 01One member, one vote.
- 02The money sits on the open ledger before it is spent.
- 03Members vote before money moves.
- 04Every project is photographed, costed and published.
Monthly contribution: from GH¢[20] or £[5].
